Hello everyone.((:
Now i will be posting about my favourite memory of Chinese New Year i have in my mind.
Last year, on Chinese new year eve, i still had to go to school. However, this time, it is not for studying and academics purpose. This time, it is to watch a performance in school, and to celebrate this joyous occasion with my classmates and teachers.
On the day, clad in my new clothes, i set off for school. When i reached my class, i was amazed to see how colorfully decorated the class is, and i am really glad that my classmates and teacher have put in a commendable amount of effort to decorate the class, and bring out the joy of the festive occasion. Also, i found it interesting to see what my friends would wear. At that time, it was just not more than 2 months into my secondary school life, and i still am not really familiarized with my classmates yet. Therefore, looking at what they wear can aid me in guessing and inferring their personalities and characteristics.
Also, after the typical and normal flag raising, we set off for the hall, and we set down. The hall was buzzing with excitement and enthusiasm, as the students and teachers were excited to see what is in stored for them, by the performers and student council.
I really enjoyed the concert, as there were many sing along sessions, quizzes, games, and many other thrilling and astonishing performances, such as the Hwa Chong Gymnastic team doing some hair standing stunts, which i am sure everyone in that hall enjoyed tremendously.
Also, after the celebration in Hwa Chong, I returned to my primary school. I am really happy to meet my primary school classmates again, and also i was really happy to meet my teachers again, and to receive their blessings. I also played some soccer with my primary school classmates until evening, and then i went to my grandparent's place for the reunion dinner.
The dinner was sumptuous, with every kind of food. Satays, fried prawn noodles, goodies, buns, donuts, Rojak, were all there, laid out nicely on the dinner table. The food smelled really nice, and it tasted even better! However, after eating that meal, i was really full, and became drowsy and sleepy.
However, that did not dampen my spirits, during this joyous occasion. I still played some games with my relatives, and had the once in a lifetime chance to gamble a little, with my relatives. It was really, really, fun and enjoyable.
Also, i got to sleep over at my grandparents' house, and that was a really unique and fun experience for me as well, as i am not allowed to sleepover at my friends' house usually.
That is about all! Even though it is only about Chinese New Year eve, i hope you guys still enjoyed everything i talked about!(:
Best regards,
Mervin Lim :P
