How has technology affected the way that you learn?
Technology has affected me tremendously in the way i learn, and fortunately, it had positive impacts and effects on my learning style. Firstly, i have been exposed to many ICT platforms through the future school program, such as google documents, wikispaces, tumblr and even Facebook, the social networking site. I learnt new functions of these sites and online learning platforms, and realised that they are really effective in forms of presentation and discussions, away from the usual Microsoft Powerpoint, Windows Live Messenger etc. This platforms facilitate discussion and hence help us to express our viewpoints and perspectives differently, allowing collation or data and compiling of thoughts.
Furthermore, with the future school program, i will be able to find out whatever i do not know with just a few clicks of the finger, through online browsers such as Yahoo, and of course, the best and most fantastic search engine, Google. If i do not understand words, i can easily go to online dictionaries, such as Dictionary.com, to define the words and clear any queries and doubts in my mind.
To find out more facts, i can conduct in-depth research easily, using search engines as well.
However, despite the good and positive impacts, there are also bad impacts, such as distractions and gaming. However, this can easily be overcomed and solved, through self discipline and independent and passion driven learning.
